MUSIC ART HISTORY
Music is known
since the presence of modern humans Homo sapiens that is about 180,000 to
100,000 years ago. There is no man who knows when the first known art and
music. From archaeological discoveries at sites such as the African continent
about 180,000 years to 100,000 years ago have shown changes in the evolution of
the human brain thinking. With the human brain is smarter than animals, they
make hunting more terancang so they can hunt large animals. With the ability of
the brain, they can think farther up beyond the reach of reason and imagination

Music genre is a
grouping of music according to its similarity to one another. Music can also be
classified according to different criteria, such as geography. A genre can be
defined by a musical technique, style, context, and theme music.

domains, namely Art Music, Popular Music and Traditional Music.
Music Arts (Art
Music)
Art music is
music to the grouping of classical music and the kind of music that assessed
the level of historical value other than artistic value. This type of music is
used to refer to the types of music that are very obedient to the theories of
music and is usually difficult for a layman to understand (except those already
know the style of Popular Music).
Classical music
Classical music
usually refers to European classical music, but sometimes also in Persian
classical music, India, and others. European classical music itself consists of
several periods, such as baroque, classical, and romantic.
Classical music
is a broad term, usually refers to music that is rooted in the tradition of
Western art, Christian music, and orchestral music, covers the period from
about the 9th century to the 21st century.
European
classical music is distinguished by the music of shape, non-European and
popular music, especially the music notation system, which has been used since
the 16th century. [2] Western music notation is used by composers to give
instructions to the bearer of the music on the pitch, speed , metrum,
individual rhythms and exact nature of a piece of music. This limits the
practices such as improvisation and ad libitum ornamentation is often heard in
non-European music (compare Indian classical music and Japanese traditional
music) and popular music.
Formerly
classical music in Europe mainly used for songs in church or accompaniment
tracks for the King. Along with the development, also emerged from the
classical music used for other purposes, such as describing classical music as

Popular Music

Popular music is
the types of music that are currently favored by the general public. This type
of music is music that fits with the current state of the time, so it fit in
the ears of most people. Some genres of music including Pop Music is Popular,
Funk, Jazz, Blues, Rock, Gospel, Underground, and others. This music genre can
be found in almost all parts of the world because of the nature of the music
that could almost be acceptable to everyone.
Jazz
Jazz is the kind
of music that grew out of the merger of blues, ragtime, and European music,
particularly band music. Several subgenres are Dixieland jazz, swing, bebop,
hard bop, cool jazz, free jazz, jazz fusion, smooth jazz, and CafJazz.
Gospel
Gospel is a
genre that is dominated by the vocal and usually have a Christian theme. Some
subgenrenya is contemporary gospel and urban contemporary gospel. Actually kind
of Gospel song has a feel similar to the Rock n Roll (hence Rock n Roll itself
is actually a fusion or a mix of Rock, Jazz, and Gospel), originally introduced
by the first Christian blacks in America. Some current examples are actually
using the flow of gospel music is Israel Houghton. However, the current
understanding of gospel music has expanded into the gospel music genre as a
whole. In Indonesia, gospel music wing pop and rock much popularized by
musicians such as Franky Sihombing, Giving My Best, Nikita, True Worshippers,
and much more.
Blues
Blues comes from
the Afro-American community that evolved from West African music. This species
is then influenced many genres of pop music, including ragtime, jazz, big band,
rhythm and blues, rock and roll, country, and pop music.
Rhythm and blues
Rhythm and blues
is the name of the traditional music of the Afro-American, the black pop music
from the 1940s to the 1960s were not a jazz or blues.
Funk
Funk was also
pioneered by musicians Afro-Americans, such as James Brown,
Parliament-Funkadelic, and Sly and the Family Stone. Funk music types usually
have a groovy beat tone, a rhythm that made the audience chuckle in the rhythm.

Rock
Rock, in the
broadest sense, covering almost all popular music since the early 1950s. Its
earliest form, rock and roll, is a fusion of different genres in the late
1940s, with musicians such as Chuck Berry, Bill Haley, Buddy Holly, and Elvis
Presley. It is then heard by people all over the world, and in the mid-1960s
several British bands such as The Beatles, began to imitate and become popular.
Rock music
evolved into psychedelic rock, progressive rock became. Some British bands like
The Yardbirds and The Who later evolved into hard rock, and then became heavy
metal. The late 1970s punk rock music began to grow, with groups such as The
Clash, The Ramones, and the Sex Pistols. In the 1980s, rock developed steadily,
especially evolved into hardcore metal, thrash metal, glam metal, death metal,
black metal and grindcore. There is also a british rock and underground.
Electronic
Electronic
begins long before the invention of the synthesizer, with tape loops and analog
electronic instruments in the 1950's and 1960's. The forerunner was John Cage,
Pierre Schaeffer and Karlheinz Stockhausen.
Ska, Reggae, Dub
From the
combination of R & B music and the traditional music of Jamaican mento
emerged, and later developed into reggae and dub.
Hip hop / Rap /

1980s, the music was originally developed in the U.S. east coast, called East

Pop
Pop music is a
genre of important but the boundaries are often blurred, as many pop musicians
also added to the category of rock, hip hop, country, etc..
Traditional
Music (Traditional Music)
Traditional
music is the music of life in the community for generations, preserved not as a
means of entertainment, but there are also used for the treatment and there
were to be a means of communication between man and creator, this is according
to the beliefs of each person. Traditional music is a treasury of the local art
community. Traditional music in Indonesia, such as gamelan, angklung and
sasando. apart from traditional music from local culture, there are also
traditional music from outside cultural influences such as xylophone kromong,
marawis and keroncong.
Latin
Traditional
Latin music genre usually refers to the Latin American music including music
from Mexico, Central America, South America, and the Caribbean. Latin music has
subgenres Samba.
Country
Traditional
country music is influenced by blues, and growing of white American culture,
especially in the city of Nashville. Some of the early country artist Merle
Haggard was and Buck Owens.
